SMS / Text Message Policy

1. Consent is required before we text you
Voilà LOCAL only sends SMS messages to users who have explicitly opted in. You give consent by:
- ✦ Checking the SMS opt-in checkbox during signup, OR
- ✦ Replying YES or START to one of our messages, OR
- ✦ Toggling SMS notifications ON in your Settings
We do not purchase phone numbers, scrape them, or send unsolicited messages. Your consent is logged with a timestamp and method.
2. What you'll receive (by user type)

3. Message and data rates may apply
Standard SMS rates from your carrier apply. Voilà does not charge you for messages, but your phone plan might.
4. How to STOP messages
You can opt out at any time:
- Reply STOP to any Voilà text — you'll get a confirmation, then no more texts
- Toggle SMS off in your Settings → Notifications
- Email jennifer@voila-local.com
After STOP, we will not send you any further marketing or transactional SMS. Transactional emails (e.g., booking confirmations) will continue via email only.
To opt back in: Reply START to any prior Voilà message, or re-enable SMS in your Settings.
5. How to get HELP
Reply HELP to any Voilà text for instructions, or contact:

6. We don't share your number
Your phone number is never sold or shared with third parties. Service providers that help us send messages (Twilio) are bound by data processing agreements and cannot use your number for their own marketing.

7. Compliance
Voilà LOCAL complies with:
- TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) — federal SMS consent law
- CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices — carrier-mandated rules
- CAN-SPAM Act — for any commercial messaging
We maintain records of consent (timestamp + method) for every phone number we text.
8. Changes to this policy
- Material changes (new categories of messages): 30 days' notice via email or in-app
- Continued participation after notice = continued consent
You can opt out anytime regardless of policy changes.
