Cancellation & Refund Policy

This page explains how cancellations work for each type of user on Voilà LOCAL.

For Locals (consumers)

Cancelling a deal you've claimed

• Tap "Cancel" in your Mine tab anytime before the scheduled time
• No money to refund — Voilà never charges you for claimed deals; you pay the business directly when you arrive
• The business is notified so they can free up your spot
• No penalties from Voilà — but the business may have a no-show policy (check the listing's fine print)

What if you no-show without cancelling?

• The business may flag your account for no-show
• After 3 no-shows in 30 days, your account may be temporarily restricted from claiming time-sensitive deals (Don't Blink and Last Call)
• This protects local businesses from people booking and not showing up

Account deletion

• Email jennifer@voila-local.com or use Settings → Delete Account
• Account data deleted within 90 days
• Reviews you wrote remain published (or you can edit/delete them first)

For Businesses

Cancelling your subscription

• Anytime through Billing → Cancel
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• You retain access until that date
• Active listings remain visible until your access ends; then they're archived

Refunds

• We do not issue refunds for partial months
• Exceptions: legitimate billing errors (we charged the wrong amount, double-charged, etc.) — email jennifer@voila-local.com

Listing cancellations (when you, the business, void a deal)

• You can pause or remove a listing anytime
• If Locals have already claimed it, you must:
  1. Honor the existing claims (recommended), OR
  2. Notify them through the app that you're voiding it (we'll send the email/SMS for you)
• Repeated voiding of claimed deals may result in account review

Refunding a customer (the Local)

• This is between you and the customer
• Voilà never processed the money, so we cannot issue refunds on your behalf
• We will help mediate disputes if asked

For Creators

Cancelling your subscription

• Same as businesses: cancel anytime, takes effect at end of billing period
• No refunds for partial months
• Active partnerships are honored through their committed dates

Earnings

• Pending earnings are paid out as scheduled
• After cancellation, your final payout includes all earnings up to your cancellation date

For Affiliates

See AFFILIATE_AGREEMENT.md for full affiliate terms, but the short version:

• You can stop being an affiliate anytime
• Pending commissions are paid through the next normal payout cycle
• Renewal commissions stop the moment you leave (no trailing commission)
• 30-day clawback applies to recent commissions if your referred customer cancels
